His Way Out Ministries and the Future by Pastor Phillip Lee

We have had an exciting and wonderful year. I believe we have seen numerous prayers and requests become a reality due to our waiting on the Lord to hear His voice and then earnestly praying according to His will, plan and purpose for His ministry called His Way Out. Today, I remain steadfast in learning to listen closely to the Lord as we are on the threshold of a new year. God is leading all of us at His Way Out Ministries and I am purposed to remember and apply that He has called us to "do our part" - not to do it all. I am certain that each individual, ministry and church that comprises the His Way Out Ministries network would ask you to pray for us to hear His voice and do what He tells us. At His Way Out Ministries, we remain certain that our major calling is discipling men and women, both adults and teenagers, that want to be free from same-gender attraction as well as develop materials and teachings that will instruct, guide and equip the Church and its workers. To date, we have been faithful to do this and we give God all the praise for the numerous doors of opportunity in which our teachings have blessed many thousands of people. Now, our desire is to proceed accordingly to His will as we look forward to a new year.
  • We look forward to the continuation of our L.I.F.E. Group as we are even now preparing material and scheduling quest speakers to help individuals face the pain and challenge of having children, a spouse, family member or friend of someone struggling with homosexuality.

  • We will continue to participate in the Exodus International and Focus on the Family's 'Love Won Out' Conferences by facilitating workshops and offering our materials detailing the ministry services of His Way Out Ministries.

  • Our Time Out Men's Discipleship Series will continue in 2008 by offering a specifically designed curriculum series designed to help adult men work through and overcome the issue of same-gender attraction.

  • We have been asked to come to Jamaica in May 2008 and assist in organizing and ultimately birthing the first ex-gay ministry on the island of Jamaica.

  • We will continue our partnership with the Bakersfield AIDS Project assisting in the equipping and facilitation of Ricky's Retreat, a home in Bakersfield for men and women impacted by HIV/AIDS.

  • Our ministry partnership with Operation Restoration in Guyana, South America continues to develop rapidly as numerous men, women and families are seeking guidance in understanding the complexities of same-gender attraction. Therefore, our presence, ministry and partnership with Operation Restoration will increase as we provide mentorship, materials and make regular trips to equip the saints in Guyana to reach those struggling with same-gender attraction.

  • We will continue to step through each and every door of opportunity, locally and overseas, to conduct seminars and workshops in churches of all denominations, colleges and universities, raising awareness, educating and encouraging the Body of Christ to minister to those who struggle with homosexuality.

  • We will prayerfully consider the numerous and regular invitations from places such as India and Africa to come and lovingly communicate to the sexually and relationally broken that God's mercy and grace are sufficient for transformation.

  • We will continue to seek our Lord's guidance and provision for an individual to disciple and facilitate support groups for youth.

  • We will continue to offer our educational resources: web site, monthly newsletter, DVD teachings and booklets designed to help you understand the complexities of homosexuality and related issues.
In the midst of a world scene that seems increasingly unstable, His Way Out Ministries will continue to press forward, focusing our energy on the spiritual well-being of Christ's church. We are constantly considering the possibility of growing our staff and our ministry response to the great needs associated with helping the relationally and sexually broken.

Therefore, as we have expressed many times...to each of you who continually bless us by your encouragement, ministry participation, monthly financial support, offerings, and prayers...we remain truly grateful. Together, we have and we will continue to make a difference!

From All of Us at His Way Out Ministries..."Merry Christmas!"

While the Church invokes truth in its stand against homosexuality, as it must, does it also contain enough love...in deeds, not just words? With God as our witness, can we really say we love homosexuals?

If Christmas means anything to us, our greatest desire should be that those we truly care about, those we love most would know, love and serve Jesus Christ. Or, permit us to express it this way. Christmas will never live in the world until it is lived out through each of us. We must carry Christmas into our faith. Certainly, Mary and Joseph needed to remember Bethlehem often because there would be many moments in their lives when their faith was greatly tested and tried.

Soon all of the decorations will be gone. But while Christmas may have come and gone...Christmas must never end. We must always remember that there at Bethlehem God had not forgotten "anyone." At His Way Out Ministries we believe that includes the homosexual.

Prayerfully Yours,

Pastor Phillip Lee

Dear His Way Out Ministries...

We love and appreciate the difference you are making in our world...
Bob & Jimmie Johnson

Thank you so much for giving over two hours of your time to interact with our class. We all found the time to be very meaningfully spent and your personal sharing and commentary on the issue of same-sex attraction, choices involved in terms of adopting a gay identity and pursuing gay life were very helpful in expanding our understanding of these complex issues.
Professor Gary Strauss

Thank you so much for all that you do for the church, our community, and the world. Your ministry is so unique but desperately needed. I praise God for all of the lives He has changed through your witness and service...

A Strong Delusion by Joe Dallas. Having been involved in the pro-gay church movement, Joe gives clear and forthright rebuttals to "gay theology" issues. He also gives some very wise do's and don'ts when debating homosexuality.

Portraits of Freedom by Bob Davies. Some believe that "once gay" means "always gay." In this book you'll find stories about people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and situations, who show that through Christ healing and change are possible.

Coming Up This Month!

December 1st L.I.F.E. (Living in Fellowship...Even in Tough Times).
A Right Way and a Wrong Way to Confront will be our teaching and group participation focus. How the Church confronts the gay Christian movement is crucial. Therefore, when we confront, we should do it wisely, understanding our motives and concerns and expressing them clearly. We will explore some "do's and don'ts" of confrontation. L.I.F.E. meets faithfully on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 11am. Teaching materials are provided.

A breakout session is offered at our L.I.F.E. group meetings for wives whose marriage has been impacted by homosexuality.

December 8th TIME OUT Men's Discipleship Support Group
A Call to Servanthood
Jesus' solution to our human condition is for us to adopt the role of servant. Therefore, before we can find true fulfillment, or even get close to it, we must learn the art of serving. Time Out meets from 9am to 11am.

December 22nd TIME OUT Men's Discipleship Support Group
Safeguarding Our Souls
The foundation that all change is based upon is the belief that "God is right" no matter when we feel or think. We must guard our minds from lies by filling them with God's Word. Time Out meets from 9am to 11am.

Homosexuality and the Reality of Change presents a biblical perspective on the homosexual behavior with honesty and compassion. The 50 minute video contains information on: Can Homosexuals Really Change?, Will the Person Become Heterosexual?, How Long Does Change Take?, Exposing the Roots of Homosexuality, HIV and AIDS, Biblical and Scientific Evidence for Change, and much, much more.

This video is an excellent resource for teachers, churches, pastors, support group leaders, or anyone desiring a clear, comprehensive understanding of homosexuality.

The Good News of Jesus Christ and His love, acceptance, and forgiveness, His power to heal and restore has brought hope to many struggling with homosexuality. If you know someone struggling with same-gender attractions Homosexuality and the Reality of Change can help.

Videos are available on VHS or DVD at a cost of $20.00. To order your video...give us a call today.

We recently received, and watched, the video you sent us. It was excellent. We will be sharing it with other people at our church. One part that especially ministered to us was when Pastor Lee said from Philippians 1:6 that God is never going to give up His job of working in our life to conform us to the image of Christ. It helps makes sense of life's trials. Thank you for your ministry...Tom & Catherine

IT'S ABOUT LIFE:
Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS

AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.

We invite churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join with us in caring. Offer your support by donating the below listed items.

Canned tuna Canned soups
Canned ravioli Canned pasta products, e.g.Spaghettio's
