But God
How often do we say, "...but God" and He replies, "But what?" God does not keep us out of trouble, but He does say, "I will be with you in trouble." Let's consider Peter. In Matthew 14:24-32, the wind was boisterous, the waves must have been very high, but Peter did not see them...at first. He didn't reckon with them, he simply recognized his Lord and stepped out in recognition of Him, and walked on the water. But then he did reckon with the actual things, and down he went, instantly. Why could not our Lord have enabled him to walk at the bottom of the waves as well as at the top of them? Because...neither can be done except by recognition of the Lord Jesus.
There are times when we cannot understand why we cannot do what we want to do, or at least have things our own way. And we once again find the expression...but God! Sometimes maybe even empty promises prevail. Peter, at another time, said to Jesus, "Lord, I will lay down my life for you." Jesus answered, "...the cock shall not crow until you have denied me three times." Peter must have said or at least thought to himself, "but Lord!" Jesus, seeing his heart, in the very next verse says, "...let not your heart be troubled." Nothing, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Can we ever begin to comprehend the depth of God's love? It is inexhaustible!
George just recently turned 52 years old. For most of his adult life he struggled with same-gender attractions. However, he has never once acted upon his feelings or temptations. George combated huge issues of self-esteem and self-worth. From early childhood he fought a tremendous weight problem and despaired over the lack of a nurturing, caring father. Ultimately, George embraced the lies of the enemy that he would never amount to anything and could talk about nothing except "the problem." So much, that any personal encouragement extended him would be dismissed or rejected. Recently, George experienced a tremendous breakthrough in his sexuality and his relationship with Christ. He purposed to no longer focus on "the problem" but rather "The Answer." George has experienced tremendous healing and has realized that his same-gender attractions have all but disappeared due to his seeking "The Healer," rather than just "the healing."
Jesus says, "...because I live you also will live." God is a winner! If you are His child, all of heavens resources are at your disposal to succeed, because you are more than a conqueror through Him that loves you.
So, we say, "...but God?" And God responds with, "But what, my child? What would you have me do that I already have not done." There is no more to do...but receive.
Gratefully Redeemed,
Pastor Phillip Lee

Lifting the Name of Jesus in Guyana, South America
On July 3rd, Darren Thompson, Ginny Mitchell, Carol Wagstaff, and myself will be departing for Guyana, South America. Once again, His Way Out Ministries received an invitation to return to Guyana for the purpose of educating and equipping the saints for ministry to those struggling with same-gender attractions. Our team trip is more than timely due to Guyana being in the midst of a tremendous debate over the acceptance and legalization of homosexuality.
During our two week stay, our team will be speaking in numerous churches in various locations and conducting several seminars for the public and church leaders within Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. This is an awesome and incredible opportunity for our ministry team and the Body of Christ. Would you please pray for our team while we are in Guyana? Whether in a church, a seminar, a public gathering, or one-on-one with an individual, our message will remain the same. God is more than able to deliver and restore from the snare of homosexuality. Please look for our full trip report upon our return. Once again, our ministry team will be in Guyana from July 3rd until July 19th. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Coming in September 2003
"Moving On" is a Christ-centered support group series for men seeking freedom from same-gender attractions and who desire wholeness and godliness in their sexuality and relationships. The goal of the discipleship series, which begins September 8th and concludes on December 29th, is to point men to the hope we have in Christ, regardless of how broken or hopeless they may feel. His Way Out Ministries provides a safe place where men can talk honestly about themselves and their struggles without any fear of judgment or rejection. Moving On is a recovery group and not a therapy group. It is intended to help men develop the tools to effectively overcome sexual compulsion by addressing behavioral choices, both healthy and unhealthy.
Once again, His Way Out Ministries offers the Moving On series at no cost to any participant. Although one need not be a Christian to benefit from Moving On, a primary goal of the series is to help men discover the loving, powerful presence of God who is there on behalf of their struggle. The only requirement for attendance is a desire to be free, live free, and remain free from homosexuality.
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us...And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose...What then, shall we say in response to this? (Homosexuality) If God is for us, who can be against us? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Romans 8:18-37

IT'S ABOUT LIFE:
Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS
AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.
We invite churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join with us in caring. Offer your support by donating the below listed items.
