Millions of Reasons to Care

All of us have heard at one time or another...Give me one good reason why I should care. In regard to HIV and the AIDS pandemic, there are millions of reasons to care...40 million to be exact. Recently, December 1, 2002, was World AIDS Day. Given that World AIDS Day fell on a Sunday, it seemed the perfect opportunity to do a mass e-mail to churches encouraging them to pray for those impacted by HIV/AIDS. To those who interceded on behalf of each man, woman and child struggling with HIV/AIDS...Thank you and may the Lord richly bless you.

The church can be a powerful tool in preventing the spread of HIV and ministering hope to those already infected. Experts tell us that...every person will know at least one individual infected by HIV. That means every church in the United States will ultimately have to address the issue.

5 MILLION People Newly Infected with HIV in 2001

3 MILLION AIDS Deaths in 2001

40 MILLION Estimated Number of People Living with HIV/AIDS at the End of 2001

21.8 MILLION Total AIDS Deaths at the End of 2000

13.2 MILLION Total Number of AIDS Orphans

His Way Out Ministries has, is, and will continue to minister hope to those impacted with HIV/AIDS. After World AIDS Day, we do not want to leave people abandoned. We continue to offer training for Christians interested in learning more about HIV/AIDS. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, we remain a receiving house for non-perishable food items. Donations assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition.

HIV and hope are compatible. A church with people committed to Jesus Christ and to the compassionate care of all sick persons has the opportunity to offer much hope to persons who have HIV/AIDS. Hope for eternal life through Jesus Christ is available to all that put their trust in Him. For the HIV/AIDS persons...there is also hope for improved quality of life, for a remission of the illness, and for prolonged life. His Way Out Ministries remains committed to ministering hope.

L.I.F.E. - Living In Fellowship...Even In Tough Times

A support group series offering group sharing, prayer ministry and education to:

*Spouses, family members, and friends of those struggling with homosexuality.
*Those choosing to leave the homosexual life-style.
*Those struggling with homosexual issues.

L.I.F.E. meets on the first Saturday, of each month from 9am to 11am. On Saturday, January 4th, our discussion will focus on...How Does God Use Suffering? Many of us have felt we were victims. And it may be true! But if we stop there and see no thread of grace running through our sufferings, we end up being victims who have no hope. Through your suffering, have you been able to see a purpose?

"Taking Back Ground" Banquet

You are invited to the His Way Out Ministries...Taking Back Ground Banquet...on Tuesday, February 18, 2003, 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Chester Avenue Community Church, 1509 S. Chester Avenue, Bakersfield, California. Taking Back Ground will be a celebration of God's faithfulness to this ministry and an overview of the challenges ahead. Come and enjoy a delicious dinner and hear the testimonies of those individuals who are Taking Back Ground in the battle with homosexuality.

"Time Out" (Not A Support Group)

Time Out is a discipleship teaching series designed to bring God's healing and redemptive power to those struggling with homosexuality and heterosexual sexual brokenness. By coming along side those who struggle...with love and compassion, encouragement and an understanding of those issues...our hope is that the struggler will grow spiritually, emotionally and mentally, have their minds renewed and gain strength to resist temptation.

The series is available to adult men and women and addresses such topics as...

*Rejecting Lies...People who do not know who they are will search of an identity in someone or something other than God, until they find themselves in Him.

*Taking Inventory...Taking a personal inventory enables us to experience conviction, repentance, confession, forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing.

*The Love and Grace of God...God forgave us and accepts us in spite of all we have done.

*Claiming Our True Identity...The key to overcoming any sin is for us to disbelieve what our emotions and thoughts tell us and to believe what God has said about it.

IT'S ABOUT LIFE:
Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS

AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.

We invite churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join with us in caring. Offer your support by donating the below listed items.
