Welcome to His Way Out Ministries
September 2002 Highlights
Gods Divine Intent for Human Sexuality
It is very clear from Genesis 1 and 2 that God created both sexes as compliments and counterparts to each other. They were created in such a way as to cleave together both physically and spiritually, and that they were to live in a heterosexual, monogamous relationship.
Monogamous, heterosexual committed union is Gods creative order. Since it was not good for the man to be alone, God created a suitable helper, a woman. She was created from the man and then returned to him as a perfect complement. The married union of a man and a woman offers spiritual, psychological and physical completion with the potential for creating new life.
In Matthew 19:5-6, Jesus emphasizes the concept that God intends a man and a woman to become one flesh. They are no longer two, but one flesh. That is why divorce is forbidden except in cases where that one flesh bond has been broken, through adultery (Matthew 5:32) or through death (1 Corinthians 7:8-9, 39-40).
Now...the Bible does at times make absolute statements, which are tempered by other passages showing certain exceptions. This, however, is not true concerning homosexual conduct. Always and everywhere in the Bible it is condemned.
Every perversion of Gods divine intent for human sexuality (including divorce, adultery, promiscuity, homosexuality, prostitution, bestiality, incest, etc.) is thoroughly and repeatedly condemned in Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:9; Romans 13:13; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5; Romans 1:24-32).
Question: What is normal in terms of Gods divine intent for human sexuality?
Answer: What God set forth between man and woman in the Garden of Eden. Any behavior beyond Gods original intent is not normal.
Why would a heavenly Father, who loves us, tell us to stay away from something or not to do something? Ideally, because His purpose is to protect us from unseen dangers.
When a person engages in intimate sexual behavior with someone, a bond is created on a very deep emotional and spiritual level...a bond that follows them into the next relationship that they have, so that they will never be completely free to give themselves to another.
The second and even more serious consequence of sexual sin is the dividing wall that it creates between our spirit and Gods. God doesn't create the dividing wall...our sinful behavior does and the relationship with God that we were created to develop and mature as the central purpose for our life is stopped in its tracks. A person sets himself/herself adrift from the One who loves them the most.
God wants us to believe once again, that He is perfect; that He loves us; that His instructions and commands are meant for our good...to keep us from destroying His purpose for us.
A truly healed person has been compelled by the love of God planted in his/her heart through an intimate relationship with the Lord, and...has been empowered to resist temptation by the Holy Spirit. The inner emotional source for the need to commit sexual sin (and perhaps the demonic stronghold) has been supernaturally eradicated by God.
IT IS FINISHED! Yes, homosexuals can change! And I believe we would see more change if people by in large would quit being told what they want to hear instead of what they need to know.
So...how should the Church respond to homosexuality? For some churches, the homophobic attitudes of the past have led many congregations to directly or indirectly reject the homosexual for the sake of maintaining Gods righteous stand. However, some churches claim an enlightened understanding of homosexuality and, discarding traditional teaching, have opened the church to unrepentant homosexuals. Seeing them as born gay, they reach out with compassion but sacrifice righteousness in the process. There is a third response. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, God has, is, and will be delivering people from the snare of homosexuality. Why? Because ... Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
If you would like to better understand the complexities of homosexuality, please consider attending the free one-day seminar on Saturday, October 12, 2002. A flyer is enclosed for your reference.
It is time to move beyond just telling a person that homosexuality is a sin and move more into reaching to men and women struggling with same-gender attractions.
Gratefully Redeemed,

Although one need not be a Christian to benefit from Moving On, a primary goal of the series is to help men and women discover the loving, powerful presence of God who is there on behalf of their struggle. Embracing His love in the roots, the compulsions, the self-perceptions and the relationships that make the struggle, is the key to freedom from homosexuality.

IT'S ABOUT LIFE:
Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS
AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.
We invite churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join with us in caring. Offer your support by donating the below listed items.
| Canned tuna | Canned soups |
| Canned ravioli | Canned pasta products, e.g.Spaghettio's |
| Hamburger Helper | Peanut butter |
| Hamburger Helper | Peanut butter |
