Welcome to His Way Out Ministries

August 2002 Highlights

WOW!

There simply is no other way to describe my most recent trip to Guyana, South America. By the Lords grace, provision and guidance, His Way Out Ministries launched out into areas of ministry that no one had ever presented before in the entire country of Guyana. Never before had a ministry or church ever presented practical, specific training and teaching on deliverance from homosexuality. Two night seminars were offered in the cities of Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, and New Amsterdam. All of the seminars were extremely well attended and the evidence of people wanting to become educated on the behavior of homosexuality was more than obvious. His Way Out Ministries had prepared teaching booklets for the seminars and many of the people in attendance were taking three and four booklets at a time. The comment that I heard numerous times was...I have many friends and partners in ministry that need this information.

The entire trip to Guyana was pre-planned to focus on the subject...Homosexuality and the Reality of Change. Some of the topics covered in the seminars were...Answers to Common Pro-Gay Arguments, Can Homosexuals Really Change?, Biblical and Scientific Evidence for Change, Exposing the Roots of Homosexuality, HIV and AIDS, The Dynamics of Change, and much, much more. Each seminar provided opportunity for people to ask questions and dialogue about the subjects being taught. The desire from those in attendance to learn and educate themselves on homosexuality was incredible. What I witnessed over and over again was the desire to get well beyond just telling a person that homosexuality is a sin and move more into reaching to men and women struggling with same-gender attractions. How refreshing that was!

Those who attended the seminars were presented with detailed material to help them become more effective in ministry to those bound by homosexuality and lesbianism. Also, all those in attendance viewed a tremendously important video titled...Reaching Into The Closet. The video presentation communicated that through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, God has, is, and will be delivering people from the snare of homosexuality.

Wonderfully, I had one full day with the bible students of World Harvest Bible School. The entire day was spent on teaching the bible students the truth of Gods Word regarding homosexuality and sharing the reality that many, many men and women have been set free from a lifestyle that is not Gods will. The students had many questions and shared how much they appreciated the opportunity to talk about this particular behavior. All of the students commented on how what they had learned greatly prepared them for ministry and that the teachings would help them minister more effectively to anyone bound by other compulsive behaviors or addictive lifestyles.

Just when I thought that things couldn't get any better, God provided not one but two additional and incredible opportunities to teach His Word. The first opportunity came my way when one of the local Guyanese television stations conducted an interview on why His Way Out Ministries was in Guyana. We had the joy of sharing with the entire country of Guyana that our God remains a God of healing, deliverance and restoration from homosexuality. The interview aired not once but twice throughout Guyana. Then, God provided a fifteen-minute teaching opportunity on another network. For fifteen minutes, on nationwide Guyanese television, His Way Out Ministries taught the reality of change from homosexuality. WOW! This had never, ever been done in the nation of Guyana. The teaching was so well received that many people called in for further information and even the staff of the television station said that they were planning to attend the seminar in Georgetown. Yeah God!!!

The entire trip to Guyana was incredible from beginning to end. This was my sixth trip to Guyana and I am sure it is not my last. His Way Out Ministries has an open-door policy to return at any time and continue the groundbreaking work that has begun. Now that the truth about homosexuality has been presented to Guyana, many are asking for help and ministry to resolve their same-gender attractions. Please pray with me regarding the future ministry of His Way Out Ministries in Guyana. When God opens a door of opportunity (wherever that door may be), should we not step through in Jesus Name? It seems to me that when we know a big God, we should have a big vision!

I want to personally express my deepest appreciation to each of you that gave so generously to the Guyana trip. Although you could not personally go yourselves, you were there in spirit and you will continue to reap a harvest with His Way Out Ministries. Thank You and God Bless You for your generosity and willingness to go where many have not gone. Together, we are continuing to make a difference.

Gratefully Redeemed,

Pastor Phillip Lee

MOVING ON

Moving On, an interdenominational Christ-centered support group for men and women struggling with same-gender attractions.

Although one need not be a Christian to benefit from Moving On, a primary goal of the series is to help men and women discover the loving, powerful presence of God who is there on behalf of their struggle. Embracing His love in the roots, the compulsions, the self-perceptions and the relationships that make the struggle, is the key to freedom from homosexuality.

IT'S ABOUT LIFE:
Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS

AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.

We invite churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join with us in caring. Offer your support by donating the below listed items.
