When A Young Person Reaches Out

Dear Friends,

Homosexuality is definitely on the rise among our youth. Christian and non-Christian alike, we are seeing more and more homosexual and bisexual youth. In the midst of this is one major problem. Many do not want to be gay. In speaking with these young people, more than not they are at a critical point of going either way - gay or straight - depending on who gets to them first. Often, many hear for the first time that they do not have to be gay and that change is possible. His Way Out Ministries also has the priviledge and joy of introducing them to people that have experienced change. For many this is a first time experience as well. There are many young people struggling with their sexuality. Will they find hope among the church? Or will they possibly be told that because of their actions, they are hopeless? His Way Out Ministries is reaching out with the message of transformation from homosexuality.

The greatest ministry to young people struggling with sexual identity issues or not...is our time. They all want to know that we will be there for them, that they will be loved and accepted, and that they have security in friendship. We are Christs ambassadors, called to reconcile a lost world to God (II Corinthians 5:20). Its up to us to reach todays youth with the truth about homosexuality, providing truth and a way of escape. Many of us may feel unqualified and incapable of offering anything of value to a young person, but often times it only takes a willing heart and someone to just BE THERE! Will you join us in taking a stand against the trend to accept homosexuality as normal and mainstream? The local church and ex-gay ministries working together - THE COMBINATION IS LIFE-CHANGING!

Its About Life!

AIDS profoundly impacts ones life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the aloneness associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. His Way Out Ministries remains committed to compassionately communicating Gods heart through a caring Christian community. His Way Out Ministries remains a receiving house for non-perishable food items, assisting those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition.

We encourage churches, companies, ministries, corporations, individuals, and the entire City of Bakersfield to join us in caring. This is a continuous, on-going ministry. For further information, please call us at 661-589-4262.

It is believed that approximately 500 people with AIDS live in the City of Bakersfield.

Moving On Support Group

Moving On, an interdenominational Christ-centered support group for men struggling with same-sex attractions begins Monday, July 9, 2001. Although one need not be a Christian to benefit from Moving On, a primary goal of the series is to help men discover the loving, powerful presence of God who is there on behalf of their struggle. The only requirement for attendance is a desire to be free, live free, and remain free from homosexuality. There is no fee for the discipleship series, but registration is required and may be completed by calling our office.

Food Ministry to Those Impacted by AIDS

AIDS profoundly impacts one's life whether that person has been infected by it or they are a family member or a friend of someone who has. The social stigmas, fears and especially the "aloneness" associated with AIDS makes it oppressive to live with. "IT'S ABOUT LIFE" is a crucial part of His Way Out Ministries. Because His Way Out Ministries is committed to compassionately communicating God's heart through a caring Christian community, His Way Out Ministries will be a receiving house for non-perishable food items. This will assist those with AIDS to maintain a balanced diet and good nutrition. Two major considerations in food donations for folks with AIDS are speed and ease of preparation. An appetite sometimes doesn't last long and the item has to be readily accessible and speedily prepared for the patient to be able to enjoy it.
